Following a little more than a year of conceptualization, design, and construction, my LA studio is complete. The 8,500 sq ft space serves as both a working studio and a site for installation and exhibition. I designed and built many of the bespoke elements myself.
The studio features a selection of installations drawn from various stages of my practice, integrating my visual, conceptual, and digital work into a single environment. Projects include The Free Republic of California, my 365 letters to Gerhard Richter, and a garden with UNICEF.
A substantial portion of the studio was also designed and created in tandem with my Gathering Interest project. Elements like the kitchen tile mural, central table, library shelving, and dinnerware were conceived not simply as utilitarian objects, but as integrated works that contribute to the spatial and conceptual framework of the studio.
Finally, thank you to Small Green Door for the incredible support and to all the artisans and workers involved. If you want to come check it out, email or DM me!
